The Greater Moncton Highland Games
is proud to welcome the
Scottish Athletics International
2027 Masters World Championships back to
Welcome to the East Coast of Canada,
a place known for its natural beauty,
incredible hospitality, rich Scottish roots,
and unique culture.
The 2027 MWC takes place alongside our annual Highland Games, with Highland dance, piping &drumming competitions, 5K Tartan Fun Run,
sword fighting, Ceilidh Tent, historical reenactors, vendors, agricultural demonstrations, & much more. Fun for everyone!
Our festival dates are June 6-13; MWC activities will be June 11-13, 2027.
We are in talks with several local hotels to offer a variety of room rates and options for guests. Details will be shared in September 2027.
The field is 15 minutes from
an international airport.
Moncton is roughly an 2.5-hour drive
from the US border in Maine.
Check here for info on entering Canada.
Athlete check in will take place on the field June 11; competition June 12 & 13, 2027.
A full schedule will be posted
closer to the event.
We have solo & band piping & drumming competitions, highland dance competitions, a 5K Tartan Fun Run / Walk, kids' zone, agricultural & historical presentations, & more!
The best in local & international talent will be on hand, with entertainment throughout the festival and at the athlete's closing banquet!
The 2027 MWC is being held at the Hal Betts Sportsplex, approximately 15 minutes from the Greater Moncton International Airport.
The grounds include six baseball fields that will be used for the event, overlooking the Petitcodiac River (also known as the Chocolate River because its muddy tidal colour), home to some of the highest tides in the world.
There are nearly two dozen hotels in the downtown area, many within walking distance, along with numerous restaurants. (Hotel room blocks will be available starting in September 2027.)
There will be food & drink vendors on site, as well as meals provided to athletes during competition times and at a closing banquet on Sunday, immediately following the competition end.

Explore PEI, the Land of Anne of Green Gables, less than two hours from Moncton, with The Red Headed Roamer.

Our friends at Dashboard Living are fantastic guides to everything fun in Nova Scotia. Outdoor exploration, food & drink, beaches, distilleries, & more.

The language, culture, & traditions of the Highland Gaels who settled here still thrive on the island ranked #1 in North America by Condé Nast. Let Dave & Skye show you why!

Greater Moncton's own East Coast Mermaid is the perfect hostess to show you all New Brunswick has to offer!

Check out Destination Moncton Dieppe & Tourism New Brunswick for already awesome itineraries!

You don't need to stick to the East Coast - all of Canada is ready & waiting for you to visit!
Each Host Games designs their patch for the Masters World Championships.
In 2022, our patch incorporated the colours of the Moncton tartan, the city's skyline, and the iconic Pettitcodiac River with its world-famous Tidal Bore. Carole Goguen, of Creative Cat Design, retained some of her original elements to begin her 2027 design - including the lobster claws, a nod the World's Largest Lobster in neighbouring Shediac.
The 2027 MWC patch features the silhouette of an athlete on the ocean floor, holding a caber, against the backdrop of the Hopewell Rocks.
The Hopewell Rocks are geographical formations shaped by centuries of tides along New Brunswick’s Bay of Fundy. The Rocks showcase strength and endurance, just as Masters athletes display power and grace while competing in events that have withstood the tests of time.
Don't forget to take your own photo (caber not supplied 😂) at the Hopewell Rocks, which is a roughly 40-minute drive from the Games site. A great photographic souvenir of your journey!
